Norway...

I've been last summer. We flew to Bodø and then went sailing to the Lofoten islands.

Best tip: do it! It is a gorgeous country!

Also do take the train from Bodø to Tronheim. Most beautiful train ride I ever took.

not in me landrover but in me little van..never made it into the north of Norway either but spent a bit time touring around the southern coastline around Stavanger..
I drove up into Denmark and then got the ferry to Kristiansand, but many I know used the bridge and then up through Sweden..quite a few toll roads wherever you go... they sent me my bill when I got home lol..im fortunate in that my sister lives there , so I took time out with them as well...

I did a mix of wilding and camp sites... the sites are expensive , but in the rural areas you can pretty much park up as long as you are not disturbing anyone... that was then,, I do know there has been an explosion of what they call huts.. basically holiday homes in a lot of the nice areas, which will make it more difficult...
id imagine the further north you travel the easier it gets

Did it last year in campervan, it's great if you get good weather, roads and tunnels are fantastic, even have underground roundabouts, camping lots of free places, water and toilet empty in lots of petrol stations (free), foods shocking expensive, so load up in Denmark or Sweden before you enter, couple of pics attached,
Enjoy it, it's well worth the long drive

I've worked in Norway and done a few day trips. Its a beautiful place and for the most part roads are empty. On a sunny day the "rush hour" is about 3 pm
But alcohol is very expensive, and its hard to take much but be sure to take your allowed limit, it will save you a fortune. They love whiskey and it can be used to negotiate all sorts of things:lol:. Its prohibitively expensive for the locals.
The tunnels are great but the tolls can catch you, they are not always where you expect, check your route carefully.
Stavanger and Bergen are nice but the Norwegians do not really like cities, they are a rural culture. Oslo is dull.
Unless you intend to, avoid the brown cheese and raw fish for breakfast, yes the locals swear by it but that doesn't mean you have to:lol:
