Lined the two panels which hide the rear light electrics and fitted them. Really nice tight fit - might have to put small knobs on them so they can be pulled off once unscrewed.
The nearside panel also houses the light switches for the outside awning and the rear annex.
Got a bit ahead of myself today and fitted a couple of things out of order. Just wanted to see something actually 'finished'.
On the nearside wall above where the fridge/freezer will sit I've hung the fire blanket, a 100sec fire safety stick and a rechargeable lantern. This has the usual different light settings for the main beam and also has a side panel which can be used as a reading lamp or set as a permanent or flashing red light if you needed to place it to warn motorists of a breakdown.
I made up quick release velcro straps for the lantern (not going to fall off even on the bumpiest track). The fire safety stick clicks into its own bracket and has a velcro security strap. The fire blanket is just screwed on. Got a bit more space for other equipment if needed, but most things will have dedicated storage and I don't want to clutter it up.
So this is the rear of the car looking towards the back door. Just got to screw on the sockets, resize the hinge bolt cover and push on the door frame rubber.
Next job here is lining the lower areas (and I've decided I will line the lockers).
My upholster came today to do final sizing for the rear seating. A couple of cushions just need a slight trim and it will be ready for covering. This will be black leather, part perforated, part diamond pattern and with white double stitching. This matches the leatherwork done for the front cabin.
You can see the shape of the sofa clearly now. A big 'L' shaped sofa with storage underneath.
The nearside back cushion has more padding and a good angle so you can lounge back with your legs up. The 'cross-cabin' back cushion follows the angled wall of the front storage bin lockers. The offside back cushion is thinner so as not to take up too much of the base cushion depth. It is angled and is deep enough to support your back. Shoulders rest against the side wall. Not as much depth on this seat for your bum but perfectly comfortable.
Base cushions are high density foam so they can be 'a bit thinner' so that headroom is not compromised.
The central cushion will lift with the hinged locker lid, which doubles up as the sofa base.
Fridge/freezer sits on the nearside shelf next to the rear door.
Starting to take shape now. 2-3 weeks for the cushions to arrive which gives me a deadline to finish the cabin.
